About Sainik School Academic Plus Curriculum

Sainik Schools follow the CBSE curriculum while additionally aiming to prepare children for entry into NDA and INA with special emphasis on Physical Training and Personality Development.

  • The Sainik Schools are a system of schools in India established and managed by the Sainik Schools Society under Ministry of Defense (MoD). They were conceived in 1961 by V. K. Krishna  Menon the then Defense Minister of India, to rectify the regional and class imbalance amongst the Officer cadre of the Indian Military, and to prepare students mentally and physically for entry into the national Defense Academy  (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy (INA).
  • MoD run Sainik Schools as joint venture with the respective state governments.
  • Sainik Schools follow the CBSE curriculum.
  • There are 33 Sainik schools till 2021.
  • This year as part of the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav ( 75 years of Indian Independence ), Govt of India wants to establish 100 more Sainik School India on Pubic Private partnership.
  • 21 schools are short listed and given permission to run the Sainik School and The Vikasa is one among them. The very first Private School to have Sainik School Affiliation in Tamilnadu.
  • Brown field schools are those school which are existing.
  • Green field school are those which are going to be established soo.

Profile – Group Captain R.Muthuvel (Retd)

Group Captain R Muthuvel belongs to a remote village in Tiruppur district. He is a graduate in BSc Rural Development Sciences from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. He completed his Post Graduation in Social work from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.  He was awarded MSc in Defence and Strategic studies from Chennai University on completion of Air Staff Course, Wellington.

He has served in Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officer for about 33 years. Initially he served as Air Traffic Control Officer for seven years. Thereafter he has been given administrative responsibilities at various Air Force Stations and Establishments. He has served as a Commanding Officer and as Chief Administrative officer of four Major Air Force Stations and gained varied experience.

His hobbies include Horse Riding, Swimming and Golf.
